P <br /> 1 <br /> AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO <br /> ALERT CABLE TV OF NORTH CAROLINA, INC. <br /> TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN A CABLE <br /> TELEVISION SYSTEM WITHIN THE <br /> UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF <br /> ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ORDAINS: <br /> Section I. Grant and term. <br /> Subject to the terms and conditions of the Orange County <br /> Cable Television System Ordinance as amended and as it may be <br /> amended , (hereinafter "the ordinance) which ordinance is <br /> incorporated herein by reference, and the other terms and <br /> conditions of this ordinance (hereinafter "the franchise") , Alert <br /> Cable TV of North Carolina, Inc . , it successors and assigns , <br /> (hereinafter "grantee" or "the grantee") is hereby granted the <br /> right, privilege and franchise to construct or have constructed, <br /> operate and maintain a cable television system and to operate a <br /> cable television service in the unincorporated areas of Orange <br /> County, North Carolina (hereinafter "county" or "the county") for <br /> the purpose of providing cable television service to the citizens <br /> of the unincorporated areas of the county, and for that purpose <br /> to erect, install and construct upon, across , beneath and along <br /> any street or road all necessary cable and other equipment and <br /> facilities as may be necessary and appurtenant to the cable <br /> television system . In addition , this right , privilege and <br /> franchise shall extend to property rented or leased from other <br /> persons , including but not limited to any public utility or other <br />
