SECTION IX PAGE 14 - RELATION TO HUNTING LAWS
We propose the sentence requiring the hunter to be in the
presence of the dog when hunting be deleted. As previously
stated at the public hearing "this requirement is not practical
and is not possible to comply with when hunting" .
Although we consider all these issues critical to having an
ordinance that is workable and acceptable, this is the most
critical issue for it is impossible to comply with.
SECTION XI PAGE 16 - ITEM H
We strongly object to the following and propose that it be
deleted.
"It shall be unlawful for any person to transport an animal in
the closed trunk of a vehicle, or transport it in the open bed of
a pick-up truck or trailer without proper restraint" .
SECTION XII PAGE 17 -- RESTRICTION ON USE OF STEEL JAW TRAPS
We propose this section to be deleted in its entirety for
previously stated reasons given at the public hearing.
We offer these proposed changes so we may have an ordinance that
is workable, affordable, acceptable as well as enforceable.
Thank you for your support.
Wi r a _ 4,rx-/
President Leon Rimmer
Arrowhead Hunt Club President
Route 2 Walnut Grove Hunt Club
Hillsborough, NC 27278 Route 1, Box 29E
Hurdle Mills, NC 27541
9,7-07/Hof Awc—iciA
o Hamlin Junior McFalls
President
Caldwell Hunt Club President
End River Coon Hunters
Route 2 Association
U.S. 10
Rougemont, NC 27572
Orange County
