04t <br /> 5. On May 4, 1987, the Board of Commissioners approved the <br /> funding of a preliminary Economic Development Commission <br /> Study that will cost $5, 000. The source of funding is the <br /> Contingency account. <br /> 6. The Board of Elections has $13,500 budgeted in 1986-87 for <br /> the purchase of 3 vote tabulators. Due to unsatisfactory <br /> maintenance received on the vote tabulators currently in <br /> service, the Board wishes to change vendors. A local <br /> (North Carolina) vendor has developed a vote tabulator <br /> that is compatible with the existing tabulators; however, <br /> the final product will not be ready for purchase until <br /> after July 1, 1987. Therefore, this amendment will trans- <br /> fer funds to the County Capital Reserve fund where they <br /> will be held in reserve until July 1, 1987. On July 1, <br /> 1987, the funds will be re-appropriated to the Board of <br /> Elections. The Board of Elections has requested the <br /> change in vendor. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Approve motion to amend the 1986-87 Budget Ordinance <br /> by the proposed amendments. <br />
