iii) the animals must be adequately <br /> protected from the elements, including heat and cold. <br /> iv) the animals must be adequately <br /> protected from one another. <br /> c . Only animals of the same species shall <br /> be transported in the same enclosure. Puppies and kittens under <br /> six ( 6) months of age shall not be transported in the same <br /> enclosure with adult animals, other than their mother. <br /> d. Each enclosure used to transport <br /> animals shall be large enough for each animal to stand erect, <br /> sit, turn about freely and lie down in a normal position. <br /> e. Animals shall not be placed in <br /> enclosures over other animals while being transported unless <br /> each enclosure is so constructed to prevent animal excreta from <br /> entering the other enclosures . <br /> f. All enclosures used to transport <br /> animals shall be disinfected after each use and as needed. <br /> 4 . Care in Transit <br /> a . The attendant or driver shall be <br /> responsible for inspecting the animals frequently enough to <br /> assure the health and comfort of the animals and to determine if <br /> emergency care is needed and to obtain said emergency care if <br /> needed. <br /> b. If any animal is in a vehicle for more <br /> than three (3) hours, it shall be provided fresh, drinkable <br /> water, and food as appropriate. <br /> - 32 - <br />
