which the animals will be collected and transported and/or the <br /> premises where the animals will be housed meet the following <br /> requirements : <br /> 1 . Premises All premises shall meet the same <br /> standards as set for commercial kennels in Section XVII of this <br /> Ordinance. <br /> 2 . Vehicles <br /> a. Vehicles used to transport animals must <br /> be mechanically sound and equipped to provide fresh air to all <br /> animals without harmful drafts . <br /> b. The sections of the vehicles where the <br /> animals are placed are to be constructed and maintained so that <br /> engine exhaust fumes cannot get to the animals . <br /> c . The sections of the vehicles where the <br /> animals are to be kept should be cleaned and disinfected after <br /> each use and as needed. <br /> 3 . Enclosures In or On Vehicles <br /> a. Enclosures (including compartments or <br /> cages, cartons, or crates) used to transport animals are to be <br /> well constructed, well ventilated, and designed in such a way to <br /> protect the health and insure the safety of the animals . <br /> b. These enclosures must be constructed or <br /> placed on the vehicles so that: <br /> i) every animal in the vehicle has <br /> sufficient fresh air for normal breathing, <br /> ii) the openings of these enclosures <br /> must be easily accessible for emergency removals at all times, <br /> - 31 -- <br />
