101 <br /> Public Instruction, are located at Hillside High School <br /> and Southern High School in Durham and Orange High <br /> School in Orange County. <br /> (6) Institutional Offenders Pro'ect is operated under <br /> contract with the Employment Service and provides an <br /> Employment Service Specialist who will <br /> outreach, recruitment and assessment servicesovitoo <br /> offenders while they are in prison or on parole and <br /> utilize available community resources to provide jobs <br /> and training plans for their release and re-entry into <br /> the community. <br /> (7) Adult Basic Education General Education Develo meet is <br /> a comprehensive form of study to prepare individuals to <br /> pass the GED Test. Individuals lacking a high school <br /> diploma are enrolled, according to their reading and <br /> math level, in a GED class which lasts approximately <br /> eleven weeks or an ABE class which has an approximate <br /> duration of twenty-two weeks. <br /> This project is coordinated by DTI. <br /> The projects are located in Durham at DTI, in Chapel <br /> Hill at the Hargraves Recreation Center and in <br /> Hillsborough at 111 Churton Street. <br /> (8) The Claims-Clerk and Retail Sales Customer Relations <br /> Program is designed to prepare the participant to work <br /> in sales and other customer related services. The <br /> Retail Sales participant receives training in <br /> communications, math, personal development, sales, <br /> customer relations, the operation of electronic <br /> calculators and electronic cash registers. The Claims <br /> participant receives the above training and insurance <br /> terminology, and contract reading. Eighty percent <br /> the Retail Sales curriculum is applicable intraining <br /> claims clerks. The emphasis on Retail Sales or Claims <br /> training is predicated on labor market information <br /> concerning the availability of jobs. <br /> A Retail Sales participant would be able to obtain <br /> various positions in the Retail Sales field. Claims <br /> participants would be able to obtain retail sales <br /> positions as well as Insurance Claims Clerk, Insurance <br /> Adjudicator or Insurance Cashier positions upon <br /> successful completion of the program. <br /> This self-contained, 11 week program is held at the <br /> Chapel Hill Training Center. <br /> (9) Electronig__Manufacturinff is designed with a technical <br /> curriculum and hands on experience to provide the <br /> appropriate knowledge and manual skills needed for <br /> entry level placement in Electronic Manufacturing. <br /> This self-contained, 6 week program is held at the Lyon <br /> Park Training Center and coordinated by Durham <br />
