S. 153A-222. c <br /> e e <br /> E. FIRE SAFETY <br /> 1. There are at least two complete sets of facility and emergency exit keys <br /> as required by Section .1401, Paragraph a , of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> (There are 2 sets of keys in the facility.) <br /> 2. One complete set of facility and-emergency exit keys not- in°use is stored <br /> in a safe place but accessible to supervisory personnel for use in an <br /> emergency as required by Section .1401, Baragraph b, of the Minimum Jail <br /> Standards. <br /> 3. Approved, permanently identified mattresses in good condition are pro- <br /> vided as required by Section .1412 of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> 4. Sufficient fire extinguishers are available as required by Section .1413- <br /> .1415 of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> 5. Fire extinguishers bear a current inspection tag and are maintained in a <br /> fully charged and operable condition as required by Sections .1416 and <br /> .1417 of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> 6. Means of egress in sufficient number comply with N.C. Building Code and <br /> G.S. 69-12 for each level. <br /> 7. Emergency exit doors are approved type, keyed to both sides, are func- <br /> tional, and comply with N.C. Building Code. <br /> 8. The confinement facility is of fire-resistive construction materials and <br /> unattached to any structure of less than fire-resistive construction <br /> unless separated by an approved fire wall as specified by the N.C. <br /> Building Code. <br /> 9. There is a plan for the emergency evacuation of inmates as required by <br /> Section .1506, Paragraph a, of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> 10. The facility has a master fire plan posted as required by Section .1506, <br /> Paragraph a, of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> se <br /> 11. Jailers have been trained in the use of fire fighting equipment as re- <br /> quired by Section .1506, Paragraph b, of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> 12. Fire drills are conducted at 'least quarterly and recorded as required by <br /> Section .1506, Paragraph b, of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> 13. Sufficient number of smoke detectors with automatic audible alarm and <br /> test capability, in operating condition, to monitor all inmate occupied <br /> areas, as required by Section .1419 of the Minimum Jail Standards. <br />
