0 1 1 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> BETWEEN THE <br /> ORANGE SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br /> and the <br /> SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE, USDA <br /> and the <br /> COUNTY OF ORANGE, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding is between the Orange Soil and <br /> Water Conservation District, hereinafter called the District, and the <br /> Soil Conservation Service, hereinafter called the Service, and the <br /> County of Orange, North Carolina, hereinafter called the County. <br /> The District, the Service, and the County have the common objective <br /> of helping to bring about the conservation, development, and wise use <br /> of land, water, and related resources. They, therefore,, enter into <br /> this Memorandum of Understanding as the foundation for an enduring <br /> cooperative working agreement. <br /> Under the terms of the Soil Conservation Act of 1935 and other <br /> Acts, the Soil Conservation Service is authorized to cooperate with and <br /> to furnish assistance to the District for conservation and resource <br /> development work. <br /> The General Statutes of North Carolina establishes the District as <br /> a governmental subdivision of the State of North Carolina for the purpose <br /> of exercising public powers in connection with the conservation and <br /> development of soil, water, and related natural resources. <br />
