c <br /> Page 8 <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> Based on our findings and based on the cost comparisons made in-house we <br /> would offer the following recommendations: <br /> l. ) Motor Pool repair service to remain a function of the County <br /> with contracting done on such jobs as major engine repair, <br /> upholstery and body repair, exhaust system repairs, drive <br /> shaft, hydraulic and two-way radio repair. Each of these jobs <br /> require more specialized equipment or personnel than what <br /> County resources provide. <br /> Major repairs of heavy equipment is likewise recommended for <br /> contracting. Physical size of the Motor Pool and capacity of <br /> some of our equipment limits the work that can be done on <br /> these vehicles. <br /> 2. ) Construction of a new 13 ,600 sq. ft. Motor Pool Facility and <br /> retention of the existing facility for storage purposes. <br /> 3 . ) Construction of a new Public Works Administrative office <br /> facility. <br /> 4. ) Acquisition of the required property and construction of a new <br /> driveway. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br />
