C. 27278 <br /> Dear Mr. Thompson <br /> The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Transportation Advisory Committee <br /> will host a special meeting on the Thoroughfare Plan for the Urban <br /> area. All elected local officials, appointed members of local planning <br /> boards and transportation boards, and transportation professionals <br /> are encouraged to attend. This meeting will provide a unique forum <br /> for discussion of the transportation needs of this rapidly growing <br /> area anticipated over the next twenty-five years. <br /> The meeting will be held on April 2, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium <br /> of the Microelectronics Center, Research Triangle Park. <br /> This meeting will feature a presentation by local and state transportation <br /> staffs who have been involved in the preparation of the Thoroughfare <br /> Plan. The presentation will focus on the deficiencies in our transportation <br /> system which will result from the growth anticipated in the area. <br /> In the early summer, a second joint meeting will be held which will <br /> deal with possible solutions. <br /> Please announce the Thoroughfare Plan meeting to elected and appointed <br /> officials soon, and encourage that they mark their calendars.
