The estimates were presented to <br /> the Planning Board on February 9, 1987 . The figures, as <br /> well as the planning process, will be discussed in more <br /> detail at the Regional Thoroughfare Plan meeting on April 2, <br /> 1987 , at the Microelectronics Center in Research Triangle <br /> Park. <br /> Population estimates used in the deficiency analysis will <br /> have a direct and substantive impact on recommendations made <br /> in the new Thoroughfare Plan for the DCHC area. The model <br /> assesses the impact of population/employment growth on the <br /> road system and identifies problem areas, particularly with <br /> respect to the capacity of streets to carry projected <br /> traffic volumes. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Approval of population/employment estimates. <br />
