Recreation and Parks Department will complete a written inventory of <br /> existing recreation and park programs, areas and facilities offered by <br /> public, voluntary, and private agencies. <br /> B. Recreation and Parks Department will participate in both the Project Team <br /> and Master Plan Advisory Group work-in-progress meetings. <br /> Planning Department <br /> A. Planning Department will prepare a written evaluation of current and <br /> projected (20 year) demographic and sociological factors pertinent to <br /> Orange County, including composition of the population, population growth <br /> projections/trends, economic factors, and community land use patterns. <br /> Planning Department will provide a draft of its evaluation to Woolpert <br /> Consultants who will in turn, type and edit the evaluation for inclusion <br /> in the Plan. <br /> B. Planning Department will prepare a written evaluation of current and <br /> projected physical factors, including land use, topography, highways and <br /> roads, physical barriers, and water resources. Planning Department will <br /> provide a draft of its evaluation to Woolpert Consultants, who will in <br /> turn, type and edit the evaluation for inclusion in the Plan. <br /> C. Planning Department will be responsible for preparing any necessary <br /> graphics, maps, plates, etc., to help support the text of Component Two. <br /> D. Planning Department will participate in both the Project Team and Master <br /> Plan Advisory Group work-in-progress meetings. <br /> COMM= THREE/ANALYSIS OF =RENT RECREATICU PROMAMS AND PARK FACILXTIEs <br /> DEVELOPMENT OF RECREATION STANDARDS, AND COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT <br /> Woolpert Consultants <br /> A. Woolpert Consultants will organize and participate in a third <br /> work-in-progress meeting with the Project Team to review the work to be <br /> prepared in Component Three. The Project Team will evaluate current <br /> recreation programs and park facilities, develop recreation •standards <br /> which will become part of the Plan, and assess the recreation needs <br /> of Orange County. <br /> B. Woolpert Consultants will develop recommended recreation, park <br /> facility, and open space standards tailored specifically for Orange <br /> County, (guided by those standards established by the National Recreation <br /> and Park Association) and compare existing (a) outdoor recreation <br /> program facilities, (b) public open space and park areas, and (c) indoor <br /> recreation facilities with these Orange County standards to determine <br /> unmet needs. <br /> C. Woolpert Consultants will assist in identifying and describing to the <br /> Recreation and Parks Department unmet recreational needs within Orange <br /> County. Woolpert Consultants will provide assistance to the Recreation & <br /> Parks Department in the comparison of existing recreation facilities to <br /> the standards developed in Component Two. <br /> D. If the Recreation & Parks Department elects to conduct a survey of <br /> community perception and attitudes of existing recreation facilities and <br /> services in Orange County, Woolpert Consultants will assist in preparing <br /> the survey and training the volunteers who will conduct the survey. <br /> 3 <br />
