PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENT <br /> ORDINANCE: Subdivision Regulations .r & a <br /> REFERENCE: IV-B-8-c Landscaping Standards <br /> IV-B-8-c-1 Required Landscaping <br /> IV-B-8-e Recommended Standards for Installation <br /> and Maintenance <br /> ORIGIN OF AMENDMENT: _.X_Staff planning Board_X_BOCC Public <br /> Other: <br /> STAFF PRIORITY RECOMMENDATION:_x_High_Middle`Low <br /> Comment: <br /> EXPECTED PUBLIC HEARING DATE: February 23. 1987 <br /> *********************************************** <br /> PURPOSE OF AMENDMENT: To revise Section IV-B-8-c-1 of the <br /> Subdivision Regulations and related <br /> sections to address concerns regarding the <br /> number. location and cost of plants to be <br /> installed in new subdivisions. <br /> IMPACTS/ISSUES: On December 1. 1986. the Board of Commissioners, <br /> acting upon a recommendation of the Planning <br /> Board, placed a moratorium on enforcement of <br /> Section IV-B-8-c-1 of the Subdivision <br /> Regulations, pending further study of the <br /> standards. Concerns had been expressed by land <br /> owners and developers about the high cost of <br /> complying with the regulations. particularly as <br /> related to side and rear yard setback areas. <br /> Clarification of application of the standards <br /> was also desired as related to the location of <br /> plant materials within setback areas. <br /> EXISTING ORDINANCE PROVISIONS: The existing provisions of <br /> Section IV-B-8-c are as follows: <br /> IV-B-8-c Landscaping Standayd5 <br /> "Where a subdivision is proposed either on land <br /> which has been previously cleared. or trees have <br /> been approved for removal under one or more of <br /> the exceptions listed in Article IV-B-8-b-2 <br /> above, new trees shall be planted in accordance <br /> with the provisions of this Article. " <br /> The existing provisions of Section IV-B-8-c-1 <br /> are as follows: <br /> IV-B-8-c-1 Required Landscaping <br /> As a requirement of subdivision approval, the <br /> subdivider shall plant sufficient trees so that <br /> there is at least one (1) tree for every <br /> thirty-five (35) feet of frontage along both <br /> 123 <br />
