68 <br /> The soils maps are the only environmental maps which <br /> cannot stand alone. They must be viewed in conjunction with <br /> the other environmental maps, otherwise, they are very <br /> misleading . For example, alluvial soils were mapped on the <br /> vegetative maps to define wetlands . On the soils maps they <br /> show up as posing "slight" restrictions and this clearly <br /> isn 't the case. <br /> In retrospect, the soil suitability matrix may have been <br /> too lenient in the ratings soils received, i .e., there are <br /> probably more moderate and severe soils than the maps indi- <br /> cate. This is due to the fact that soils had to rate poorly <br /> on 2 or more factors to receive a classification of moderate <br /> or severe. Some soils such as Creedmoor (Cr9) rate so poorly <br /> on one feature (depth to GW=1 ' ) that they should probably <br /> have been rated moderate or severe. <br /> IV . REFERENCES <br /> 1 .
