. <br /> -8- <br /> *Funds shall be recommended by the County Manager and 5u <br /> approved by the Board of Commissioners annually for the <br /> purpose of providing salary increases to employees in <br /> recognition of above standard or improved performance. <br /> The funding level of the Merit Pay Program will be <br /> decided annually and shall be in accordance with one of <br /> the following options. <br /> 1. Full Merit Pay Program - All employees that have <br /> been granted permanent status shall be eligible for <br /> merit pay consideration. Salary adjustments shall be <br /> awarded on the employees anniversary date. Full Merit <br /> Pay Program shall be budgeted at six(6) percent of <br /> payroll. <br /> 2. Modified Merit Pay Program - All employees that have <br /> been granted permanent status shall be eligible for <br /> merit pay consideration. Salary adjustments shall be <br /> awarded on the employees anniversary date. Modified <br /> merit pay Program shall be budgeted at four(4) percent <br /> of payroll. <br /> 3. Modified Merit Pay Program - All employees that have <br /> been granted permanent status shall be eligible for <br /> merit pay consideration. Salary adjustments shall be <br /> awarded quarterly. Modified Merit Pay Program shall be <br /> budgeted at three percent of payroll. <br /> ARTICLE VI (Section 3.14) Pg. 63 <br /> Recomn eded Change: <br /> **The Manager shall be responsible for the administra- <br /> tion and maintenance of the Position Classification Plan <br /> and shall advise the Board of County Commissioners of <br /> approved changes in the Officials/Administrators occupa- <br /> tional category. <br /> ARTICLE VII (Section 3.2) Pg. 65 <br /> Recommended Change: <br /> **Based on the work standards developed, the employee <br /> and the supervisor will meet formally to discuss work <br /> performance at least once a year. A rating will be <br /> assigned summarizing the employee's work during the <br /> evaluation period. Ratings shall be in one of the <br /> following areas: <br /> Below Standard Level: performance is below the standard <br /> established for the job in all or most areas. An <br /> employee receiving a below standard rating shall receive <br /> a detailed plan for improvement from the supervisor and <br /> shall have their performance reviewed again in 90 days. <br /> Note: The asterisk items were approved by the BOCC on 1/5/87. <br />
