Emphasis is on an extensive I-40 corridor <br /> landscape plan prepared by NCDOT. Local governments have <br /> been asked to supplement state funding for landscaping <br /> improvements at I-40 interchanges. <br /> IMPACT: Since I-40 will not be complete in Orange County by the <br /> -summer, the Subcommittee asks the County to share, with <br /> Durham County, the cost of improvements to the I-40/US 15- <br /> 501 interchange. Orange County' s share would be 510,000. <br /> NCDOT will maintain the plantings .upon installation. No funds <br /> have been budgeted for this project. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> As the Board decides. <br />
