0 1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> HILLSBOROUGH <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> 27278 <br /> e <br /> U� <br /> 4 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED REVISIONS <br /> TO THE LAND USE PLAN, ZONING ATLAS , ZONING ORDINANCE, <br /> SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS AND FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION ORDINANCE <br /> FOR ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. <br /> Pursuant to the requirements of the General Statutes of North <br /> Carolina , Chapter 153A, Section 323 and 343, Article 20-Sections <br /> 20.5 and 20.6 of the Orange County Zoning Ordinance, and Section <br /> VIII of the Orange County Subdivision Regulations, notice is <br /> hereby given that a public hearing will be held in the Superior <br /> Courtroom of the Orange County Courthouse (New) , 106 East <br /> Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina , on Monday, February <br /> 23 , 1987, at 7 :30 pm for the purpose of giving all interested <br /> citizens an opportunity to speak for or against the adoption of <br /> proposed amendments to the Land Use Plan, Zoning Atlas , Zoning <br /> Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations and Flood Damage Prevention <br /> Ordinance. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY LAND USE / <br /> The proposed amendments to the Land Use Plan under <br /> consideration are as follows: <br /> 1 . Amend JOINT PLANNING AREA LAND USE PLAN map and text to <br /> change the land use classification on approximately 1 ,500 <br /> acres of land from Rural Residential to Suburban <br /> Residential . The property in question is located in the <br /> upper portion of the Bolin Creek drainage basin and is <br /> bounded generally by Duke Forest on the north, Union <br /> Grove Church Road (SR 1179) and Dairyland Road (SR 1112) <br /> to the west, NC Highway 86 and Buckhorn Creek to the <br /> south, and Rogers Road to the east. <br /> The current Rural Residential designation is assigned to <br /> properties where development is to occur at densities of <br /> no more than one ( 1 ) dwelling unit per two (2) acres of <br /> land. The Suburban Residential classification allows <br /> development densities ranging from one ( 1 ) to five (5) <br /> . units per acre. <br /> 2. Amend JOINT PLANNING AREA LAND USE PLAN map and text <br /> by providing boundary designations for Rural Buffer and <br /> Transition areas consistent with the countywide Land Use <br /> Plan.
