Box 337 <br /> arrboro No WestMama27510 <br /> Carrboro, North Carolina 27510 <br /> (919)968-7700 (919) 942-8541 <br /> N.C. <br /> The following resolution was introduced by Alderman Judith <br /> Wegner and duly seconded by Alderman Tom Gurganus . <br /> A RESOLUTION REGARDING JOINT PLANNING, WATERSHED <br /> PROTECTION, ANNEXATION AND RELATED MATTERS <br /> Resolution No. 18/86-87 <br /> WHEREAS, the Towns of Carrboro and Chapel HiII and Orange <br /> County have mutual interests in land use and growth manage- <br /> ment, annexation matters, and watershed protection; and <br /> WHEREAS, a Joint Planning/Watershed Work Group , including <br /> representatives of the Towns of Carrboro and Chapel HiII and <br /> Orange County has met several times since the fall of 1986 to <br /> discuss such matters; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Joint Planning/Watershed Work Group has <br /> developed an "Outline of Agreement in Principle" dated <br /> January, 1987 and containing 13 statements of principle; and <br /> the Joint Planning/Watershed Work Group has agreed to submit <br /> this document to the Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Orange County <br /> governing bodies for consideration and recommends approval in <br /> concept of the 13 principles . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF <br /> THE TOWN OF CARRBORO : <br /> Section 1 . The Board of Aldermen hereby approves in concept <br /> the attached "Outline of Agreement in Principle" dated <br /> January 21 , 1987 and including 13 principles . <br /> Section 2 . This resolution shall become effective upon <br /> adoption . <br /> The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, <br /> received the following vote and was duly adopted this 27th <br /> day of January, 1987 : <br /> Ayes : Randy Marshall , Tom Gurganus , Hilliard Caldwell , Jim <br /> Porto, John Boone, Judith Wegner , Zona Norwood <br /> Noes : None <br /> Absent or Excused : None <br />
