O R A N G E COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT 002 <br /> Meeting Date: February 2, 1987 <br /> Action Ag,enda <br /> Item# ])1 <br /> SUBJECT: OUTLINE OF AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE - <br /> JOINT PLANNING/WATERSHED WORK GROUP <br /> *************************************************************************** <br /> DEPARTMENT: PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING: <br /> Yes X�No <br /> *************************************************************************** <br /> ATTACHMENTS: CONTACT: Marvin Collins <br /> 1-21-87 Outline of TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br /> Agreement in Principle Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 967-9251 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> *************************************************************************** <br /> PURPOSE: To adopt resolution approving in concept Joint <br /> Planning/Watershed Work Group "Outline of <br /> Agreement in Principle". <br /> NEED: Since the fall of 1986, representatives of <br /> Orange County and the Towns of Chapel Hill and <br /> Carrboro have been meeting to discuss mutual <br /> interests in land use and growth management, <br /> annexation matters and watershed protection. <br /> The Joint Planning/Watershed Work Group has <br /> developed an "Outline of Agreement in Principle" <br /> containing 13 statements of principle and agreed <br /> to submit the outline to the respective <br /> governing bodies for consideration and approval <br /> in concept. <br /> IMPACT: Approval in concept of the outline would assure <br /> uniformity of approach by the three <br /> jurisdictions in addressing areas of mutual <br /> concern. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution approving in concept <br /> "Outline of Agreement in Principle". <br />
