Brantley, Airport Director, in his letter to you <br /> dated December 13, 1985, requesting both Southern Bell and GTE to consider <br /> establishment of a central exchange to serve the RDU Airport. <br /> There is no doubt that such a service would be simpler and more efficient <br /> for our RDU Airport employees and passengers. Today, Eastern incurs the <br /> expense of direct telephone lines to both Raleigh and Durham from our <br /> airport offices and the Eastern Ionosphere Club. Calls to and from Chapel <br /> Hill are made as toll calls both ways. <br /> Eastern would be most interested in receiving a proposal from Southern Bell <br /> and GTE for this new service.
