. -6- <br /> 134 <br /> (b) Drivers shall observe all local and state ordinances pertaining <br /> to the operation of motor vehicles. Any fines imposed for any <br /> violation which was under the control of the driver shall be the <br /> responsibility of the driver. <br /> (c) Hitchhikers are not permitted to ride in county owned vehicles. <br /> (d) When a county owned car• is used for travel, parking and storage <br /> fees, tolls, and required repairs are legitimate charges to the <br /> county, including reimbursement when applicable provided necessary <br /> receipts are obtained. Reimbursement of expense for airport parking <br /> for both private and county owned vehicles is limited to forty-eight <br /> (48) hours, with a receipt required for any charges exceeding <br /> three dollars. Policy on use of private cars by county employees. <br /> The County Financ Department may agree to grant reimbursement for <br /> expenses incurred for use of a private care when another made of <br /> transportation is more economical if the employee wishes to use <br /> a private car agrees to be reimbursed at the most common rate for <br /> a County owned car. <br /> 9.8.1 Exceptions <br /> Use of private car for convenience of the County <br /> County employees may use their private cars: <br /> 1. For round trips at a reimbursement rate of 20.5 cents <br /> per mile non-taxable. <br /> • 2. When the employee has a physical handicap which requires <br /> specialized equipment for operation of a motor vehicle that <br /> is not available on cars purchased by the County. <br />
