Ms. <br /> Toni Mason will present a summary of the plan and answer <br /> questions. <br /> NEED: The study was undertaken as part of an overall effort to <br /> develop a multi-year capital improvements plan for the County. <br /> It was also prompted by the need to re-evaluate space assign- <br /> ments in light of a move of offices to the new Planning and <br /> Agriculture Center Building. Not since the 1976 Facilities <br /> Study has such a comprehensive review been made of both owned <br /> and leased space. <br /> Six objectives were considered in undertaking the study. <br /> These include: <br /> 1. Determine which County agencies should occupy the Agricul- <br /> ture Building and a large portion of the new Courthouse <br /> basement when said spaces are vacated by the current occu- <br /> pants moving into the Carr Building. <br /> 2 . Allocate space in such a manner as to vacate the maximum <br /> square feet of rented space. <br /> 3 . Provide maximum possible expansion allowable, within the <br /> restrictions of the space available, to agencies needing <br /> increased square footage. <br /> 4. Determine the best location of agencies in order to <br /> satisfy adjacency requirements, thus facilitating <br /> efficiency of service. <br /> 5. Project generalized growth trends affecting County agen- <br /> cies. Recommend, accordingly, the best solutions for <br />
