Marshall's memorandum regarding .a review of the County's <br /> Personnel Ordinance, s. I asked Department Heath to submit : in writing any - <br /> changes/clarifications they wished considered during the Board's deliberations. Copies . <br /> of their correspondence are attached for your review. In addition,- during the last staff <br /> meeting discussions were focused on modifications to the Merit Pay Policy. • <br /> Based on a thorough review of the Ordinance, staff input and external- comparative <br /> practices, I recommend that the Board consider the following changes. <br /> ARTICLE I • - <br /> Section 4.16 _ <br /> PROPOSED CHANGE: Immediate Family - spouse, parents, siblings, children,_ grandparents, <br /> grandchildren. <br /> • <br /> ARTICLE II <br /> Section 2.3.7 <br /> PROPOSED CHANGE: Delete this section. - <br /> • <br /> Sections 3.2, 3.2.1, 3.2.2 <br /> . PROPOSED CHANGE: Delete these sections. • <br /> Section 7.7 = <br /> PROPOSED CHANGE: (Add new section to read as follows) - <br /> Former employees who return to work for the County after the one year reinstatement <br /> period, shall, receive-credit for'their. previous employment years, .if they remain employed <br /> for a period of no less than ten consecutive years. <br /> ARTICLE III . - <br /> Sections 9.2.1, 9.2.2(b), 9.2.3(a), 9.2.3(c), 9.2.3(f), and 9.3 <br /> PROPOSED CHANGE:- Recommend all changes stated in the Finance Director's memorandum. - See <br /> Attached. <br /> ARTICLE IV - <br /> Section 5.3 <br /> PROPOSED CHANGE: Vacation leave shall be requested by the employee no less than two work <br /> weeks prior to the date the vacation is to begin.
