Wallace called the meeting to order. Council <br /> Members present were: <br /> Julie Andresen <br /> David Godschalk <br /> Jonathan Howes <br /> David Pasquini <br /> Nancy Preston <br /> R. D. Smith <br /> Bill Thorpe <br /> Arthur Werner <br /> Also present was Town Manager David R. Taylor, Assistant Town <br /> Managers Sonna Loewenthal and Ron Secrist, and Town Attorney <br /> Ralph Karpinos. <br /> Public Forum for Citizen Comments on Preparing 1987-88 Operating <br /> and Capital Budget <br /> Manager Taylor said this public forum, part of the budget pro- <br /> cess, was to hear citizen comments on the upcoming budget year. <br /> There were no citizen comments. <br /> Council Member Preston asked the Manager if he had received any <br /> telephone calls or written comments on the budget. Manager <br /> Taylor replied no. <br /> Petitions <br /> Peter and Desiree Denton, speaking as residents of Colony Woods <br /> Drive, petitioned the Council to make necessary improvements to <br /> the storm drainage pipe on under Colony Woods Drive in order to <br /> rectify the flooding problems associated with storm water run-off <br /> through this pipe. They commented that the Manager had previous- <br /> ly recommended no improvements be made to the storm drainage <br /> system because of a pending lawsuit and the expected cost for <br /> repairs of $75,000. They said these reasons were no longer valid <br /> as they nor the Town were not involved in the lawsuit and they <br /> expected the cost for replacing the 15 inch drainage pipe with a <br /> 30 inch pipe to cost much less than $75, 000. They urged the <br /> Council to review the situation and make the necessary improve- <br /> ments. <br /> Council Member Preston commented that she had understood replace- <br /> ment of the 15" pipe with a larger pipe would have an adverse <br /> affect on the storm water run-off further downstream.
