Hillsborough, North Carolina, on Monday, November <br /> 24. 1986, at 7:30 pm for the purpose of giving all interested . <br /> citizens an opportunity to speak for or against the adoption of <br /> proposed amendments to the Zoning Atlas, Zoning Ordinance and . <br /> Subdivision Regulations. <br /> ORANG4 COUNTY ZONING ATLAS <br /> The proposed amendment to the Zoning Atlas under - <br /> consideration is as follows: <br /> Z-9-86 ORANGE COUNTY (DESIGNATION OF RURAL BUFFER AREA) <br /> The area in question is located adjacent to the Towns of <br /> Chapel Hill and Carrboro and is bounded generally . by <br /> Interstate 40. ' Clyde Road. Eubanks Road, Rogers Road and <br /> Homestead Road to the south; Cornwallis Road, Murphey School <br /> Road, Brockweli Road, the University Railroad, N.C. 86, <br /> Davis Road and Tree Farm Road to the north; the Durham; <br /> County line to the east; and Dodsons Crossroads, Carl Durham <br /> Road and Ferguson Road to the west. It contains <br /> approximately 35.000 acres and also includes the- area. known <br /> as the "Southern Triangle" bounded by the Durham and Chatham <br /> County lines. and the Town of Chapel Hill extraterritorial ` <br /> jurisdiction line. The present zoning of the area is <br /> Agricultural Residential (AR) and Residential-/ CR_1l ,. <br /> Portions of the area situated in University Lake Watershed <br /> are also located in overlay zoning districts, Protected <br /> Watershed District II (PW-TI) and Water Duality Critical Area <br /> (UQCA) . <br /> The purpose of the amendment is to conform the Orange County <br /> Zoning Atlas with the Rural Buffer Land Use Plan designation <br /> adopted October 13. 1986 as part of Joint Planning activities <br />
