There <br /> are those who hold very strongly that the airport is not a <br /> good <br /> neighbor and that, consequently, its use should be curtailed or <br /> ended. There are those who hold equally strongly that the airport is <br /> in a superb location in relation to Chapel Hill, that it is not a <br /> bother to nearby areas and that, consequently, its use should be <br /> expanded. <br /> The Task Force has not tried to be a referee or judge concerning <br /> these disagreements. Rather, the Task force recv 1z <br /> Wiliams Airport is a University facility and thatthe University Horace <br /> would like to be able to plan and use the airport area for non- <br /> airport uses. <br /> With Horace Williams requiring considerable expansion <br /> if it were to satisfy the aviation needs of rangecount improvement <br /> considerable) and with the University having non-airport uses(which s n are <br /> for the airport area, the Task,Force's recommendation is that Orange <br /> range <br /> County should not try to meet its aviation needs at Horace ams <br /> but rather meet them at some alternate site.
