classifications and recommend its adoption to <br /> Orange County. Classifications will be <br /> 007 assigned in accordance with the land use <br /> designations shown on the adopted Joint <br /> Planning Area Land Use Plan. <br /> (Under the existing agreement, Orange <br /> County's zoning district designations apply.) <br /> 2. Upon amendment of the County's Zoning Map <br /> (including Zoning Atlas) to incorporate the <br /> Zoning Map and Town Land Development <br /> Ordinances, the Towns will be responsible for <br /> the processing of applications, permits <br /> issuance and conducting necessary inspections <br /> within the Transition Areas. <br /> (Under the existing agreement, Orange County <br /> and Chapel Hill jointly approve development <br /> applications. Orange County is also <br /> responsible for permits issuance and <br /> conducting inspections.) <br /> 3. Orange County will continue to administer <br /> its Zoning Ordinance and Atlas, and <br /> Subdivision Regulations within the Rural <br /> Buffer. The County will also process <br /> applications, issue permits and conduct <br /> inspections within the Rural Buffer. <br /> (No change is proposed from the existing <br /> agreement. ) <br /> 4. Orange County will review and comment on <br /> development applications within the <br /> Transition Areas. Each Town will review and <br /> comment on applications within the Rural <br /> Buffer depending upon the portion of the <br /> Rural Buffer which applies. <br /> (Under the existing agreement. Orange County <br /> and Chapel Hill jointly approve projects in <br /> the Transition Area. Chapel Hill reviews and <br /> comments on projects in the Rural Buffer. ) <br /> 5. Any amendments to the Joint Planning Area <br /> Land Use Plan and the Orange County Zoning <br /> Ordinance (including Atlas) applicable to the <br /> Joint Planning Area require County approval <br /> but will be referred to the Towns for review <br /> and comment before a final decision. <br /> (Under the existing agreement, joint approval <br /> is required for Zoning Atlas changes in the <br /> Transition Area. Orange County may amend its <br /> Zoning Ordinance without comment from the <br /> Towns. <br /> 6 . Amendments to either Town's Land <br />
