003 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> HOME, CARE WEEK <br /> WHEREAS, home care provides a wide range of needed health <br /> and supportive services to the ill, elderly, <br /> disabled and infirm in their homes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the concept of home care is the oldest and most <br /> • enduring tradition of health • service delivery in <br /> • the United States; and . <br /> • WHEREAS, home care services help preserve one of the <br /> country's most important social values, keeping <br /> f. . ilies together; and <br /> WHEREAS, most Americans prefer for themselves and their• <br /> f. flilies to remain and receive treatment whenever <br /> • • possible in the comfort and security of their own <br /> homes; and <br /> WHEREAS, there is a significant and growing body of evidence <br /> • that home care services stimulate quicker and <br /> fuller recoveries and improvements than comparable <br /> services within institutions; and <br /> • WHEREAS, it is becoming increasingly evident that home care <br /> provides a cost-effective delivery system for high <br /> • quality, individual health services; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, The Orange County Board of Commissioners, DO <br /> • HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of November 30 through <br /> • December 6, 1986 as <br /> Orange County Home Care Week <br /> to coincide with the celebration of 'Home' Care Week <br /> • in North Carolina and National Home Care Week; and <br /> • Furthermore, that Orange County expresses its support and <br /> appreciation of home care providers; and <br /> Furthermore, that the Orange County commends all dedicated <br /> individuals who have devoted their careers to <br /> • providing high quality home care services to its <br /> citizens. <br /> • This the day of November, 1986. <br /> Don Willhoit, Chair <br /> Board of Commissioners <br />
