O R A N G E C O U N T Y <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date November 1986 <br /> Action Benda <br /> Item I ,. 1 <br /> SUBJECT: PROPOSED SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS TEXT AMENDMENTS <br /> _ <br /> DEPARTMENT: PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING Yes X No <br /> Attachment(s) information Contact: MARVIN COLLINS <br /> Proposed Text Amendments <br /> 10-6-86 Public Hearing Minutes <br /> Draft 10-20-86 Planning Board Minutes <br /> Telephone Numbers <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Mebane -- 227-2031 <br /> Chapel Hill - 967-9251 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider proposed text amendments to the Subdivision <br /> Regulations. <br /> To receive the Planning Board recommendation . <br /> This item was submitted to public hearing on August 25, <br /> September 16 and October 6, 1986. <br /> NEED: Changes have occurred in the North Carolina Uniform Plat Law <br /> which establish minimum and maximum dimensions for subdivision <br /> plats - no smaller than 8-1/2" x 11" or greater than 21 " x 30" . <br /> Margin dimensions are also established - 1 -1/2" on the left <br /> border and 1/2" on all other borders. <br /> The current Subdivision Regulations allow either (a) 21 " x 30", <br /> (b) 12" x 18" or (c) 18" x 24" plat sizes . <br /> IMPACT: The amendment would eliminate confusion between the regula- <br /> tions/requirements administered by the Planning Department and <br /> the Register of Deeds and Land Records Departments . <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Approval of amendment. <br />
