Thompson <br /> Orange County Manager <br /> Orange County Courthouse <br /> Hillsborough, N.C . 27278 <br /> Dear Ken : <br /> The Carrboro Board of Aldermen at its meeting of September 2, <br /> 1986, voted to authorize the Carrboro Fire Department to <br /> serve the area shown on the attached map as part of the South <br /> Orange Fire District. <br /> It is my understanding that the taxes for fire protection for <br /> this area will become part of the South Orange Fire District <br /> effective January 1 , 1987, and all monies collected will be <br /> forwarded to the Town of Carrboro. I also understand that <br /> the tax rate for the South Orange Fire District is $.085 per <br /> $100. 00 valuation . According to figures supplied to me by <br /> Mr . Bobby Baker , the total property tax value for this area <br /> is $1 , 975, 131 .00, which would yield $1 , 590.00 in fire <br /> district fees . <br /> I would appreciate your assistance in having this matter <br /> brought before the Orange County Board of Commissioners. <br /> Please let me know if you have any questions . <br /> Sincerely , <br /> Robert W.
