O R A N G E C O U N T Y <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS O6G <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date Qsigler64 286 <br /> Action g nda <br /> Item 1 <br /> SUBJECT: PROPOSED SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS TEXT AMENDMENTS <br /> DEPARTMENT; PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING X -_ Yes No <br /> Attachment( s) Information Contact: MARVIN COLLINS <br /> Proposed Text Amendments <br /> Telephone Numbers <br /> Hillsborough -- 732-8181 <br /> Durham -- 688-7331 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Chapel H i l l -- 967-9251 <br /> PURPOSE: To receive public comment on proposed text amendments to the <br /> Subdivision Regulations. . <br /> NEED: Changes have occurred in the North Carolina Uniform Plat Law <br /> which establish minimum and maximum dimensions for subdivision <br /> plats - no smaller than 8-1/2" x 11" or greater than 21" x 30" . <br /> Margin dimensions are also established -- 1-1/2" on the left <br /> border and 1/2" on all other borders. <br /> The current Subdivision Regulations allow either (a) 21" x 30" , <br /> (b) 12" x 18" or (c) 18" x 24" plat sizes. <br /> IMPACT: The amendment would eliminate confusion between the regula-- <br /> tions/requirements administered by the Planning Department and <br /> the Register of Deeds and Land Records Departments. <br /> RECOMMENDATION; Approval of amendment. <br /> WJ <br />
