BOCC <br /> PUBLIC- OTHER <br /> STAFF PRIORITY RECOMMENDATION: X HIGH MIDDLE LOW <br /> COMMENT: To address a functional gap in the <br /> ordinance. <br /> EXPECTED PUBLIC HEARING DATE: AUGUST 26, 1986 <br /> ********************** <br /> PURPOSE OF AMENDMENT: To provide design standards for <br /> handicapped parking facilities in the <br /> Zoning Ordinance. <br /> ISSUES/ IMPACTS: No requirement exists in the Zoning <br /> Ordinance for the provision of <br /> handicapped parking facilities.. <br /> Currently these facilities are <br /> provided through the attachment of <br /> conditions of approval on <br /> subdivisions, planned developments <br /> and special use permits.. <br /> EXISTING ORDINANCE PROVISION(S) : <br /> Section 10 .3 b) Each parking space shalt contain a, <br /> minimum area of one hundred eighty <br /> square feet and have a minimum width <br /> of 9 feet. However, where there are <br /> lots designed to accomodate more than <br /> ten vehicles, up to twenty-five <br /> percent of the spaces may contain a <br /> minimum area of one hundred twelve <br /> point five square feet and a minimum <br /> width of seven point five feet.. The <br /> smaller spaces, if provided,- shall be <br /> designated for use only by compact <br /> cars (Manufacturerest frame classes <br /> four through eight. ). <br /> PROPOSED AMENDMENT(S) : <br /> ADD TO Section 10 .3 b) Handicapped parking spaces shall <br /> have a minimum width of 13 feet and <br /> length of 20 feet. <br /> (NEW) Section 10.8 flandlcaoped ParAlag_L=I l i tjgs. <br />
