Police protection would be <br /> provided by the Orange County Sheriff 's Department, <br /> while fire protection would be provided by the White <br /> Cross Fire District. <br /> The Final Plat for Section One of Grampian Hills was <br /> approved on July 23, 1971 . There were five (5 ) lots <br /> proposed out of approximately 12.5 acres. The <br /> average lot size was 2.5 acres. All lots have <br /> direct access onto Jones Ferry Road (SR 1942) . <br /> The Final Plat for Section Two of Grampian Hills was <br /> approved on October 4, 1976. There were nine (9) <br /> lots proposed out of approximately 21.51 acres. The <br /> average lot size was 2.39 acres. Lots 1 , 2, 3, 4, 8 <br /> and 9 have access on Laine Road and Lots 5, 6 and 7 <br /> have access on Ann Lane. Both roads were construct- <br /> ed to NCDOT standards for a local residential street <br /> ( 18 foot wide pavement) and dedicated for public <br /> use . <br /> The 1985 traffic count on Bowden Road (SR 1946) was <br /> 300 trips per day as determined from the intersec- <br /> tion of SR 1005 . An additional 19 trips per day <br /> would be generated by the subdivision.. <br /> The Planning Staff recommends approval of the <br /> Preliminary Plan contingent upon the following <br /> conditions: <br /> ( 1 ) Indicate the tax map and lot references on the <br /> plat; <br /> (2) The spelling of Grampian must be changed to <br /> provide consistency for all three sections. <br /> Jacobs asked the applicant why a Joint driveway why <br /> a Joint driveway was indicated. The applicant <br /> responded that the joint driveway was recommended by <br /> the Planning Staff . <br /> MOTION: Best moved approval with the Joint driveway. <br /> Shanklin noted that he had seen no evidence to <br /> warrant a Joint driveway. Best indicated his <br /> preference for Joint driveways. <br /> Motion was seconded by Kramer. <br /> VOTE: 9 in favor . <br /> 1 opposed (Shanklin) . <br />
