14C AGENDA #7 <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Mayor and Council <br /> FROM: David R. Taylor, Town Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Rescheduling a Joint Public Hearing <br /> DATE: September 8, 1986 <br /> The attached resolution would set a date for a Joint Public <br /> Hearing. <br /> Orange County has requested that the Joint Public Hearing that <br /> was scheduled for September 9 be rescheduled. <br /> There is only one item in the process of Joint Planning review <br /> awaiting Public Hearing: the Eubanks Road Townhouses proposal. <br /> This was considered at a Joint Public Hearing in the spring; <br /> further consideration was deferred until a Land Use Plan for the <br /> Joint Planning Area could be adopted. The Orange County Attorney <br /> has determined that now that a plan has been adopted, the Public <br /> Hearing must be re-opened for the plan to be considered as <br /> evidence. <br /> Orange County has suggested that this hearing could be scheduled <br /> for a date when one of the two bodies is already meeting in <br /> regular session. The plan for Eubanks Road Townhouses has not <br /> changed; the discussion at the hearing would be focused on a <br /> review of the proposal, review of the comments made at the last <br /> public hearing, and the relationship of this proposal to the new <br /> Land Use Plan. <br /> Dates of Town Council meetings are as follows: <br /> October 13: Chapel Hill Town Council Regular Meeting <br /> October 22: Chapel Hill Town Council Public Hearings <br /> October 27:. Chapel Hill Town Council Regular Meeting <br /> Other open dates on the County Commissioners' schedule are <br /> October 8 and October 14. <br /> Recommendation <br /> We recommend that the Council schedule this hearing on October <br /> 13, to be added to the regular agenda for that meeting.
