O8 <br /> DRAFT PBM MINUTES 8-18-86 PAGE 5 <br /> MOTION: Shanklin moved to recommend approval subject to the <br /> twenty (20) conditions recommended by Staff. Seconded <br /> by Pilkey. <br /> Discussion followed on Condition #7e: <br /> "Construct all walking and biking paths with a minimum <br /> width of 4-6 feet and on slopes no greater than 5%. <br /> Construct all riding/hiking trails . with a minimum <br /> width of 6-8 feet with a minimum of 2 additional feet <br /> on either side and 10 feet over-head clearance. " <br /> Shanklin suggested that "4-6" should be changed to <br /> read "4" and "6-8" should be changed to read "6" <br /> Shanklin suggested that Condition #7c (3) read as <br /> follows: <br /> "in conjunction with sidewalk cut-aways and/or ramps <br /> in compliance with North Carolina State Building <br /> Code. " <br /> Pilkey inquired about the buffer between Duke Forest. <br /> Collins responded there are steep slopes between <br /> Heartwood and 150' of the Duke Forest property line. <br /> Discussion followed involving maintaining vegetation <br /> in this area. Collins responded that Condition #12 <br /> would address this problem until the lots were sold. <br /> It was suggested to add the following sentence to <br /> Condition #l2 : Existing vegetation shall not be <br /> removed from the area located within 50 ' of the Duke <br /> Forest property line. <br /> The three changes were accepted As a friendly <br /> amendment. <br /> VOTE: 6 in favor, <br /> 2 opposed (Kiser, Walters) . <br /> MOTION: Shanklin moved approval of the overall project. <br /> Seconded by Kramer. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. <br />
