He noted that the moratorium would continue <br /> longer than November and the next public hearing would <br /> then be February. <br /> Shanklin reminded the Board of the moratorium on sub- <br /> divisions in Cheeks which continued longer than expected. <br /> Best indicated he felt the moratorium is an incentive to <br /> get things done. Collins responded that staff would be <br /> taking criticism for the moratorium. Best noted that he <br /> was not referring to staff . Collins stated that the <br /> Planning Department was to be staff to the Low Income <br /> Task Force. The pressure would again be on the Planning <br /> Department in a position of already being under-staffed. <br /> Shanklin inquired what the moratorium was to accomplish . <br /> Jacobs responded he felt one Issue is if the County wants <br /> mobile homes to be part of the answer to low income <br /> housing. • Shanklin felt there would be no gain but loss <br /> to the County by imposing the moratorium. <br /> Jacobs indicated he felt that some of the aspects of the <br /> ordinance that deal with new mobile home parks did not <br /> address the intent that the Planning Board had in <br /> adopting the ordinance. He continued that rather than <br /> try and perfect an ordinance which may not become <br /> policy, it would seem better to suspend it until all <br /> recommendations are available. <br /> MOTION: Kizer suggested a secondary motion to delete item 14 from <br /> the resolution which concerns the moratorium.
