During this period, concerns <br /> have been expressed about maintaining instream <br /> flows in the Eno River, the primary source of <br /> water for northern Orange County. <br /> In addition to instream flow concerns, work <br /> involving the preparation of the Land Use Plan <br /> for the Joint Planning Area has been underway for <br /> over a year . The recommendation of the Carrboro <br /> Board of Aldermen regarding the Joint Planning <br /> Area Land Use Plan contains a statement to the <br /> effect that water and sewer extensions should be <br /> permitted in University Lake watershed . <br /> Finally, an Environmental Affairs Board has been <br /> appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Though <br /> the list of tasks to be accomplished is not fully <br /> known at this time, a function of the group may <br /> be to conduct assessments of projects which could <br /> have negative impacts on the environment of the <br /> County, particularly as related to water supply <br /> issues . <br /> IMPACT: Consideration and support of the Planning Board <br /> resolution will help establish a clear water <br />
