We feel that <br /> the proposed use is contrary to the stated objectives of <br /> preserving existing neighborhood character, minimizing <br /> traffic impact, and maintaining a buffer zone for Chapel <br /> Hill . <br /> However, we strongly support the recommendations made by Gene <br /> Bell ( planning department ) at the May 19 planning board . <br /> meeting to keep Whitfield Road rural—residential and remove <br /> the proposed light industrial development along Eubanks Road. <br /> We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you <br /> for a fine job in reaching out to all communities and being <br /> receptive to our concerns. <br /> Discussion <br /> 1 . The "triangle shaped" area west of NC86 and north east of <br /> 140 should not be developed. <br /> Mr. Judson Edeburn of Duke Forestry has stated that the <br /> development of this area would destroy the adjacent <br /> section of Duke Forest to the point where research will <br /> no longer be possible. <br /> 2.
