HUMAN SERVICES TASK FORCE <br /> Department: BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Public Hearing: Yes X no <br /> Attachments: Information Contact: Moses Carey <br /> Appendix I and II Phone Numbers: 732-8181, 968-4501, <br /> Charge <br /> 227-0231 <br /> PURPOSE: The Board has been considering a revision in the composition and a redefinition <br /> of the charge of the current Human Services Advisory Commission (see attachment) <br /> to make it more responsive to the needs of the County and the Board of - • <br /> Commissioners. While the current Commission has been instrumental in <br /> assisting the Board of Commissioners in adopting worthwhile programs to - <br /> meet the needs of the citizens of Orange County, it has not been able to <br /> realize the full scope of its charge. Therefore, Changes are necessary to insure <br /> that the Commission is composed of the types of citizens and has the necessary <br /> support to more fully realize its charge as defined by the Board of Commissioners. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Appoint a citizen task force knowledgeable of the history, composition and <br /> charge of the Human Services Advisory Commission to make a recommendation to <br /> the Board of Commissioners on the future composition, charge and resources <br /> necessary to support its activities by the end of November, 1986. <br /> Approve accompanying charge and policy direction. <br />
