Section I Y.1y b±JQ.0_1Yzil=B
u b. sLal
Collins reviewed the recommended changes from the public
hearing, one being to measure trees in a primary tree
protection area as measured 4-1/21 above ground level .
This is the standard as used by forestry personnel . in
the section on Exceptions, the Planning Director, not
his/her designee, may approve the removal of trees . in
the section on Prctective Measures, the last sentence
should read "Except for sidewalks and curb and gutter,
no paving with concrete, asphalt or other impervious
material within the drip line of trees to be retained
shall be allowed." In the section on Required
Landscaping, Collins noted that the reference to one
tree for every 225 square feet is to be changed to one
tree for every 1000 square feet of land area and the
reference to one tree for every 30 feet of frontage to
one tree for every 35 feet.
In the section on Installation and Maintenance, Collins
recommended that this be placed at the end of the
section and be labeled as Recommended Standards of
Installation and Maintenance. A further recommendation
is that rather than the emBer_or_developer being
responsible for maintenance of landscaping materials,
only the owner would be responsible for the continued
proper maintenance of landscaping materials.
