• <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> access around proposed buildings for construction <br /> equipment ,, the need for access to the Lot or <br /> building site for construction equipment , and the <br /> need to account for essential grade changes , <br /> • <br /> surface water drainage and utility installations ;. <br /> ( d) Necessity to observe. good foresty practices , i .e . , <br /> the number of healthy trees that a given parcel of <br /> Land will support ; and <br /> ( e) Necessity to remove trees which may pose a safety <br /> hazard to pedestrian or vehicular traffic or <br /> threaten to cause disruption of public services . <br />:v- 3—sib-3 . .ate i ye M,a3sts des <br /> During the development and construction of a subdivision <br /> or any Lot therein , adequate protective measures shall <br /> be provided to minimize damage to existing trees and <br /> other vegetation . Protective devices such as •a cord <br /> fence with strips of surveyor ' s flagging attached shall <br /> be installed prior to any grading , construction work or <br /> traffic taking place near trees to be retained , and <br /> shall be maintained until all work has been completed . <br /> Such devices shalt effectively protect the roots , trunks <br /> and tops of trees to be retained . <br /> Grading shalt not take place within the drip Line of <br /> trees to be retained . Where grading within a tree drip <br /> Line cannot be avoided , the following measures shall be <br /> used to maintain the life of trees : <br /> ( a ) Limit cuts and fills to one—fourth (1 /4) to one— <br /> half (1/2) of the area within the drip Line of a <br /> tree ; <br /> (b ) Avoid cuts and fills around the entire <br /> circumference of the tree ; <br /> ( c ) Root prune a tree several months prior to any cuts <br /> within the drip Line ; <br /> (d) Prune tree Limbs in an amount which reflects the <br /> area of the roots severed , but in no case allow <br /> pruning to exceed thirty percent (30%) of the limb <br /> area . Fertilize and water the undisturbed site of <br /> the tree ; <br /> ( e) Where cuts have Left roots exposed to the air , cut <br /> roots clean and paint Promptly with a tree paint ; <br /> and <br /> • <br />
