Board of Commissioners ' approval of a Class A private road is required before a minor subdivision served by this road can be approved for the Lynns ' lot. • Currently 14 lots are served by the unnamed private road . A minor subdivision of the Lynns ' tract could occur if a Class A road is approved by the Board of Commissioners. The Planning Staff recommends approval of a Class A If constructed to NCDOT standards the road would not comply with NCDOT criteria ( length and housing unit density) for acceptance as a public road . Smith introduced this item commenting that it is a further example of the difficulty of addressing road standards during the subdivision of previously subdivided parcels that were exempt from local. government review. Walters commented on the equity issue of requiring road improvements along lot frontages that vary . Barry asked if the applicant owned the entire development. Smith responded --he Lynn ' s owned only lot ##2. Best inquired if a private road existed . Smith responded yes and that it would - have to be improved along the site ' s frontage. MOTION: Yuhasz moved approval of a Class A road. Walters seconded the motion . VOTE: Unanimous 1 .
