O R A N G E • <br /> C O U N T Y. <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT 014 <br /> Meeting Date: July 7, 1986 <br /> Action A enda <br /> Item # � <br /> SUBJECT: CARRBORO DRAFT JOINT PLANNING AGREEMENT <br /> *************************************************************************** <br /> DEPARTMENT: PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING: Yes_X_No <br /> *************************************************************************** <br /> ATTACHMENTS: Draft Agreement CONTACT: Marvin Collins <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br /> Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 967-9251 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> PURPOSE To consider the draft Joint Planning Area <br /> Agreement as proposed by the Town of Carrboro. <br /> NEED; When Orange County and Chapel Hill entered into a <br /> Joint Planning Agreement, the Town of Carrboro <br /> elected not to enter into such an agreement until <br /> the Plan for the area was prepared and a zoning <br /> map and development standards Jointly adopted by <br /> the three Jurisdictions - Orange County, Chapel <br /> Hill and Carrboro. <br /> With the pending adoption of the Joint Planning <br /> Area Plan, and Carrboro ' s involvement in Plan <br /> preparation, Carrboro has submitted a draft <br /> agreement for the Commissioners consideration . <br /> IMPACT: If adopted, the draft Carrboro agreement would <br /> have the following impacts: <br /> 1 . The Land Use Ordinances (and zoning district <br /> designations) of Carrboro and Chapel Hill <br /> would be adopted by the Orange County and <br /> would apply within the Ten and Twenty-Year <br /> Transition areas as shown on Exhibit A. <br /> 2. Chapel Hill and Carrboro would administer the <br /> referenced ordinances Just as if the land <br /> were located within the extra-territorial <br /> Jurisdiction of the communities. <br /> Administration would include all on-site <br /> inspections . <br />
