All families residing in dilapidated <br /> housing have been relocated to standard dwellings in the Chapel <br /> Hill/Carrboro area. Sealed bids were opened on June 2, 1986. The <br /> bids were as follows: <br /> Contractor- R.W. Jones Grading & Hauling Company, 320 West <br /> Corbin Street, Hillsborough, NC, 27278. Bid Amount- $7,900.00 <br /> Contractor- Morrow Construction Company, Route 2, Box 391, <br /> Mebane, NC, 27302. Bid Amount- $16,395.00 <br /> Contractor- Stonewall Rental, Inc. , Route 4, Box 506, Chapel <br /> Hill, NC 27514. Bid Amount- $11,900.00 <br /> IMPACT: Demolition of all dilapidated structures will eliminate an <br /> obvious blighting influence on the area. Removal of all un- <br /> buried refuse will also eliminate blight as well as prevent any <br /> potential health problems. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Award contract to the lowest responsible bidder which is: <br /> Contractor- R.W. Jones Grading & Hauling Company <br /> 320 West Corbin Street <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Contract has been forwarded to the County Attorney for review. <br />
