1 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN <br /> AMENDMENT TO THE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING CONSORTIUM AGREEMENT WITH <br /> DURHAM AND ORANGE COUNTIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXTENDING THE TERMINATION <br /> DATE TO JUNE 30, 1988. <br /> WHEREAS, .the United States Congress enacted the Job Training <br /> Partnership Act in order to provide job training and employment <br /> opportunities for economically disadvantaged and unemployed persons; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, under the Act units of local government are <br /> encouraged to form consortia to carry out employment and training <br /> services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Counties of Durham, and Orange and the City of <br /> Durham have formed such a Consortium; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager is authorized as signatory official . <br /> of Job Training Partnership Act Documents for the designated Chief <br /> Elected Official; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE DURHAM CITY COUNCIL: <br /> The City Manager is directed to execute an amendment to the <br /> Employment and Training Consortium Agreement for the purpose of <br /> extending the termination date to June 30, 1988. <br /> BY ORDER OF THE DURHAM CITY COUNCIL <br /> THIS THE 28th DAY OF July , 1986 <br /> z. e§uuR; o APPROVED SY <br /> oe:;`r CITY COUNGIL <br /> e3 I <br /> i g <br /> 08 6g a <br /> l4.
