PROCLAMATION OF <br /> "JULY IS NATIONAL RECREATION AND PARKS MONTH" <br /> 25t! IN ORANGE COUNTY <br /> Whereas, positive leisure experiences are vital to good physical and <br /> mental health, and enhance the quality of life for all people; and <br /> Whereas, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners recognizes the <br /> benefits derived to the County by offering these leisure experiences; <br /> and <br /> Whereas, the Orange County Recreation and Parks Department offers <br /> programs encompassing a multitude of activities that can result <br /> in personal accomplishment, self-satisfaction and family <br /> unity for all citizens, regardless of their background, ability, <br /> level or age; and <br /> Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners wishes to encourage and <br /> endorse the concept of "July is National Recreation and Parks <br /> Month" in Orange County; and <br /> Whereas, Governor Martin has proclaimed "July is National Recreation <br /> and Parks Month" in North Carolina; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED THAT THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DOSS HEREBY PROCLAIM "JULY IS NATIONAL RECREATION <br /> AND PARKS MONTH" IN ORANGE COUNTY. <br /> BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of Commissioners encourages all <br /> citizens of Orange County to participate in the leisure <br /> activities sponsored by the Orange County Recreation and Parks <br /> Department, not only during this designated month, but year-round. <br /> THIS, the day of June, 1986. <br /> Don Willhoit, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
