B. Buchanan has asked for a <br /> resolution supporting the program which the Governor and the Bi <br /> Partisan Transportation Task Force has put forward. Key provi- <br /> sions include: <br /> 1. An $85 million one-time General Fund transfer to provide <br /> initial funding for the new Transportation Trust Fund ($70 <br /> million) and supplemental funding for the Powell Bill and <br /> Secondary Roads Programs ($7.5 million added to each for a <br /> total FY 86-87 allocation of more than $56 million) . <br /> 2. A 2 and 3/4 cents per gallon motor fuel tax increase. <br /> 3 . DOT cost savings of $31 million. <br /> 4. Increased use of private contractors to perform maintenance <br /> and other economies. <br /> NEED: <br /> IMPACT: <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> As the Board decides. <br />
