072 <br /> 126 <br /> IV-B-8 . Landscaaino and Buffer Reoyirements. <br /> IV-B-8-a: Aooticabi lity <br /> In every subdivision , provision shall be made for the <br /> protection , preservation ; proper maintenance and use of <br /> trees and woodlands Located within the subdivision <br /> regulation jurisdiction of Orange County in order to <br /> achieve the following : <br /> ( a] To prevent damage from erosion , siltation and <br /> flooding , and to wildlife habitats ; <br /> (b ] To absorb pollutants , filter impurities and add <br /> oxygen to the atmosphere ; <br /> (c] To modify the climate through reduction of <br /> temperatures and absorptionlrefLection of solar <br /> radiation ; <br /> (d] To serve as buffers between incompatible Land uses <br /> through visual screening and the reduction of noise <br /> and glare ; and <br /> (e] To provide important physical , aesthetic , <br /> recreation and economic assets to existing and <br /> future residents of Orange County . <br /> Where tracts or parcels of Land are to be subdivided <br /> which have been cleared or harvested of trees prior to <br /> application for subdivision approval , provision shall be <br /> made for the installation , maintenance and use of new <br /> trees and vegetation in accordance with the provisions <br /> of this Article . <br /> IV-B-8-b. Protection of Existing Vegetation <br /> On any land for which application for subdivision <br /> approval has been made, no person , firm or corporation <br /> shall remove or cause to be removed any trees cr other <br /> vegetation except in accordance with approved plans . <br /> Concurrent with the submission of a final plat for minor <br /> subdivision approval , or a preliminary plat in the case <br /> of a major subdivision , the subdivider shall submit <br /> plans or drawings at the same scale as the plat which <br /> identify stands of existing trees and those trees which <br /> are to be preserved upon project completion , specifying <br /> their Location and approximate size . Differentiation <br /> shall also be made on the plans between deciduous and <br /> evergreen plant species and between existing trees to be <br /> preserved and proposed planted trees . <br />
