A review of the Board's minutes reflects that the member <br /> i <br /> s <br /> nterested in all aspects of agency operation but are dp are <br /> largely on being informed through excessive reports from staff t <br /> which involves a great deal of time. <br /> 2. Interviews with staff members did reveal both positive a <br /> negative feelings concerning the Board's open and informal <br /> approach to dealing with staff. In an effort to be supportive <br /> and helpful, the Board- is providing a direct communication. <br /> channel for staff. While the good intentions are to be <br /> commended, the following might prove helpful: <br /> a. Request the director to circulate to all staff information <br /> C` concerning action taken by the Board <br /> b. Limit request for reports to program planning, needs <br /> assessment and goal setting <br /> C. An extract of pertinent statutes is -included which may be <br /> helpful to disseminate to staff in clarifying the respective <br /> roles of the Board and the Director (see attached) . <br /> d.
