PUBLIC HEARING: YES g NO <br /> ,TTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: Glenn Davis <br /> Budgeted Amount PHONE NUMBERS: HILLSBOROUGH- 732-8181 <br /> Current Budget HILLSBOROUGH - 732-9361 <br /> Proposed Budget CHAPEL Hill -967-9251 <br /> MEBANE- 227-2031 <br /> DURHAM -688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: Approve program amendment to transfer remaining community <br /> development activities funds to the parks, playgrounds and <br /> recreation facilities budget for park construction in the <br /> Northern Fairview Community Development Project Area. <br /> NEED: All community development activities have been completed in <br /> the Northern Fairview Community Development Project Area. <br /> Orange County has reclaimed, cleared and graded a landfill <br /> area for the development of a community park. Current <br /> parks, playground and recreation facilities budget has only <br /> $1,136.00 remaining. Staff proposes to submit to the <br /> Department of Natural Resources and Community Development <br /> (NRCD) a program amendment for transfer of remaining <br /> community development activities funds (approximately <br /> $133,461.59) to the parks, playgrounds and recreation <br /> facilities budget for park construction and recreational <br /> facilities. <br /> IMPACT: The approval of a program amendment will make it feasible for <br /> park construction and the close-out of the community development <br /> block grant in the Northern Fairview Project Area. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Approve the submission of a program amendment for <br /> park construction and recreational facilities to NRCD. <br />
